We're Baaaack!

The American Bigfoot Society is re-open for business; officially we launched in November 2008, and have been revamping the current website and bringing on LOTS of new members.

A new Board of Directors has been established - Melissa Hovey (President), Sean Forker (Vice President), Billy Willard (Chief of Staff), Wayne Larson (Sgt at Arms), Toby Tollman (Board Member), and DB Donlon (Board Member).

The mandate of the American Bigfoot Society is to promote the free share of information and to be a bridge between the established research groups. By doing this we hope to achieve the goal of documenting a North American Primate, and possibly getting it recognized as an endangered or protected species.

We are a "No Kill" organization, and through continual field work and education we will attempt to gain physical evidence that will be accepted by the Scientific Community.

Any Questions, please email them to us: americanbigfootsociety@gmail.com

Review: Sasquatch Experience 3-30-08

This was a GREAT 2-hour show, with guest Bill Munns, who discussed in the first hour if the creature in the P/G Movie is a person in a suit. He had several visual examples of suits and makeup techniques and how they apply to late-1960's suit and makeup technology and how they could not apply to "Patty" being a hoax. He also discussed Rick Baker and his opinions on "Patty" and also some about John Chambers. I asked about Bill's reaction to the assertion from Baker that the fur on "Patty" is not real, and Bill answered that very well. In the second hour, Bill discussed what IS "Patty" (and possibly Bigfoot in general), and gave examples of work he had done on some sculptures and statues of Gigantopithecus (that particular model is all over the Internet), Blackie and Zinjanthropus, all of which were postulated as possible candidates for Sasquatch by Bill. I called in close to the end of the second hour, along with Bill Green, and let him ask questions to Mr. Munns, such as had Munns worked with Roy Scheider, Ben Chapman or one other actor whose name escapes me. He also asked his usual question about whether Munns had investigated any sightings or footprints, and also if Munns was aware of the upcoming X-Files sequel. Another caller after us called in and discussed a bit about Bill's work as highlighted on Bigfoot Forums and other places. James also did his Bake Shop segment in which he discussed what Bigfooting on a budget requires out in the woods and what equipment should be used in the field. Dunno what Sean, Melissa and James have in store for next week, but I think it will be back at the usual time of 9:00 EST/8:00 Central at

Review: Bigfoot Quest 4-1-08

This was a terrific show, with guest Diane Stocking, who discussed her research as well as her opinions on certain individuals within the Bigfoot Community. Mike devoted the first few minutes to some new equipment he is investing in, including finding a new helmet-cam he is investing in. I called in along with Bill Green and asked Diane if she was coming to Ohio for the Conference, and she is. Bill asked her some questions too, mostly about the Florida Everglades and the creature out there. Don Keating also called in and talked to Diane for a bit as well. I called back in close to the end of the show and asked Diane about a couple of photographs, the Vince Doerr photo and a photo taken by a British tourist which seemed to be a hoax (not perpetrated by the British tourist), and the Doerr photo, and Diane said she was unsure of what was photographed by either individual, but was a bit dubious based on the presence in that area of David Shealy and his activities. Dunno what Mike and Bob have in store for next week, but it should be a good one, beginning at 9:00 EST/8:00 Central at Anomalis Entertainment, Home of The Sasquatch Experience, The Sasquatch Triangle, Beyond The Edge Radio, Bigfoot Quest and Squatch-TV

Review: Squatch Detective Radio 3-31-08

This was a great show once it got going, with guest Jeremy from Bigfoot's Paranormal Pad, who discussed his research not only into Bigfoot, but also into other Paranormal topics, such as Mothman and other Paranormal Topics. Several callers called in, including Bill Green and myself and Dan (Swamprat) and a crank caller. Steve Kulls also called in from the road and gave a report on what is going on with the Searching For Bigfoot Team, including a baiting exercise which only flushed out a hog and two deer. Next week, Billy and Becky will have from the Texas Bigfoot Research Conservancy Craig Woolheater and Monica Rawlins beginning at 9:00 EST/8:00 Central at Squatch Detective Radio, Monday Nights at 9:00 EST/8:00 Central You can also download past shows there as well as subscribe via iTunes. Handing Over the Reigns...

In 2005, the American Bigfoot Society formed this online journal to provide you with news, commentary, and interviews one of the most talked about unsolved mysteries of our time.

Since the inception, I have run this blog with the much little free time that I have, and some times going weeks with out posts. Sadly, this lack of activity has really drifted from the purpose of this journal. For that folks, I do apologize.

In the last few weeks, we have been restructuring the American Bigfoot Society to accommodate the original goals of the organization. It is within that time when I decided that I will step down as the head of this Journal, and pass the torch to someone MORE capable.

Henry May, former co host of The Sasquatch Experience and my long time friend will now serve as Editor In Chief of The American Bigfoot Society Journal. May has many successful blogs, most notable the former American Bigfoot Society Clearinghouse, and Southeast Sasquatch Association Newsroom. He will serve exceptionally in this role.

Thank You,

Sean Forker
